Level I: Eating Disorders Professionals in Durham/Chapel Hill, NC


Dates: November 30-December 2, 2018 (Friday-Sunday)
Location: Residence Inn and Suites Chapel Hill, 101 Erwin Rd, Chapel Hill, NC  27514  
Tuition:  $600.  Deposit of $150.00 is required to reserve space in the course. Full payment due by October 19, 2018. Refund of full tuition minus $100 available until October 19, 2018.  Refund of 50% minus $100 available until November 16, 2018.  No refund after November 16, 2018. 

Lodging: There are a limited number of rooms at the Residence Inn available at a group rate of $139 per night through November 5, 2018.  To reserve a room at this rate, please, call the Hotel reservations line at 919-933-4848 and request the Embodied Recovery group.

This Beginning/Intermediate level course is appropriate for therapists, dietitians, psychiatrists, medical professionals, and treatment center staff who work with clients with eating disorders in any capacity.

Course size is limited to 20 participants

Course Content: 

  • Friday: 9am-5:30pm
  • Foundational Principles of Embodied Recovery Model
  • Basic skills for observing and incorporating the Body into ED treatment
  • Defining and exploring “Embodiment”
  • Saturday: 9am-5:30pm
  • The impact of Sensory Processing Disorder on ED and ED treatment
  • The Somatic organization of Attachment-The Relational Cycle
  • The Somatic organization of Defense
  • Sunday: 9am-4pm
  • ED through the lens of Action Cycle and Barriers to Action
