I signed up for the Embodied Recovery course because I wanted to learn how developmental movement patterns influenced my clients’ abilities to get what they want and need. I learned and integrated so much – including how to recognize fight-flight-freeze patterns, how to support the nervous system to allow desired experiences, and how to tailor embodiment resources for specific attachment styles. The pace of the course was spacious and the teaching style was an effective combination of instructive and experiential. If you are interested in deepening your somatic, attachment, or trauma skills, I highly recommend this course!

As a Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, I am constantly searching for new ways to help deepen a client’s understanding and awareness of what is being stored in their body. Even the term “embodied recovery” has opened and expanded my own awareness of my responsibilities as a clinician in working with this population. I am not only there to understand and assess how a traumatic history can become manifested in a client’s behavior and beliefs, but also how I can help them embody their own recovery from these procedurally learned patterns and fixed gestalts. It’s a dynamic and well thought out approach to guiding such recovery by using the language of the body to inform and educate the client during their process of transformation, while also encouraging mindfulness throughout. Even Rachel’s training approach is embodied, and includes engaging, contactful techniques that can deepen the client’s understanding of attachment issues! Don’t miss this opportunity!

Raleigh, NCAfter over 20 years as a specialist in the field of eating disorders, the Embodied Recovery training has given me a brand new lens through which to view this work. On a daily basis, I draw on language, concepts, and strategies, which I learned in the training, that helps my clients rapidly and clearly access connection with their bodies, in ways that other modalities either cannot reach or take much longer to achieve. I find this work to be an invaluable addition to the training of any eating disorder professional, whether one is a therapist, dietitian, psychiatrist, or residential staff member.
