This workshop is appropriate for medical and mental health providers, dietitians, occupational therapists and other professionals working directly with eating disorders. Participants can attend regardless of background in treating eating disorders. Somatically trained providers are also welcome to attend.
In this 3-hour workshop that introduces the Embodied Recovery Model, participants will gain an understanding of:
How theoretical models of neurology, attachment, and trauma support bringing the body into the forefront of eating disorders treatment.
The difference between resonant eating and our current approaches to mindful or intuitive eating.
How to increase the effectiveness of current best practices, such as DBT, by including a body-based approaches that support neurological and emotional regulation
The languages of the body through which eating disorders speak in order to enhance the accuracy of assessment and effectiveness of interventions.
